Celebrating Four Years of Insights and Inspiring Guests
4th Anniversary Celebration
Can you believe we’re four months into 2024? Today, we celebrate the fourth year of the podcast in production. Who knew this idea that felt so isolated in the early stages of lockdown would flourish into camaraderie spanning the globe? We wouldn’t be here without your encouragement, support, and listenership.
With over 70 episodes, four actionable themes have emerged, anchoring our discussions and guiding our exploration of the human side of Design, Business, and Technology.
Adapt: Adaptation involves adjusting to changes in circumstances, environment, or requirements to maintain relevance, effectiveness, or success. It requires flexibility, resilience, and a willingness to embrace change, which resonates as themes shift from metaverse, NFTs, and AI.
Collaborate: Collaboration involves working together across disciplines, teams, or organizations to achieve common goals. It emphasizes open communication, sharing of knowledge and resources, and leveraging diverse perspectives. Episodes cover facilitation techniques, ethical frameworks, design operations, and inclusiveness in technical writing.
Innovate: Innovation involves introducing new ideas, methods, or products that bring about positive change or solve problems. It emphasizes creativity, experimentation, and a willingness to challenge the status quo. At the heart of our discussions lies a passion for innovation. From groundbreaking technologies to revolutionary ideas, we've gone through various trends around remote work, metaverse, crypto, and AI (the good, the bad, and the ugly).
Iterate: Iteration involves revisiting and refining ideas, products, or processes through successive testing cycles, feedback, and adjustment. It emphasizes continuous improvement and learning from failure through design systems, collaboration with design engineers, team-building in corporate settings, or supercharging iteration cycles by designing in public.
Thank You, Maurice
Maurice Cherry has decided to discontinue the production of Revision Path. I had the opportunity to be on his podcast twice, with my first appearance being almost 10 years ago. I remember seeing his podcast and being amazed at all the Black designers he highlighted. It also introduced me to some folks that I still know today.
He's achieved a significant accomplishment by producing 545 shows and being featured in the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC).
His dedication to amplifying underrepresented voices in the creative industry resonates deeply with our mission at Technically Speaking. So thank you, Maurice, for your invaluable contribution to the tech community and beyond. Wishing you the best as you move on.
